Little Ida

Greetings, ferret enthusiasts.

This short article is about a very special ferret named Little Ida.

Little Ida came to us from Hungary in 2024. As an EU hybrid, Little Ida was shy at first, but once she warmed up, she was clearly very attached to her humans. She walked a little bit differently from her fellow ferrets, and her attitude was slightly different as well. Her unique personality and temperament quickly endeared her to our hearts.

Before her first breeding season, Little Ida became suddenly severely ill with what professionals surmised was likely juvenile lymphoma. Little Ida passed away in our loving arms, on 6 February 2025.

In honor of Little Ida, we have set a retirement goal for a legacy project:

Little Ida's Ferret Trust (L.I.F.T.)

If we can manage the funds once we retire in around 15-20 years from now, we would like to open LIFT, as a way for ferrets in urgent medical need to access some assistance in the form of grants or loans.

We miss you, Little Ida. We love you. Dook in peace, beautiful little lady.
